Emperor - Ye Entracemperium from Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
I could never post enough of the Emp. Currently fueled on root beer, apple pie, joints, black metal and Stargate SG-1; sleep will come shortly.
Deströyer 666 - I am Not Deceived from Defiance
Late night uploads…at least one or two more to come.
Dark Fortress - Osiris from Ylem
I haven’t posted anything from the latest Dark Fortress album yet? I do apologize.
It sounds a bit different than their past releases, but in a refreshing way. I picked a slower track to sample.
I don’t post too many random live videos, but this Rotting Christ concert is worth it; they just happen to play what are probably my two favorite RC songs in a row after the intro.
Enjoy
Drudkh - Ars Poetica from Microcosmos
The particular chords and major keys used in this track are incredible ; this has to be one of the best, most refreshing sounding songs I’ve heard in a while.
I don’t mean to let down fellow black metal fans who haven’t heard the album yet, but in my opinion the new Watain release is a big disappointment after Sworn to the Dark. I don’t necessarily dislike it, but it feels very bland compared to their last effort.
I’ll give it another shot soon and see if my opinion changes, and I’ll also try to get a sample track up for you all today.
Lightning Swords of Death - The Extra Dimensional Wound
Throw together an excellent blend of black, thrash, sludge, and death metal and you’ve got the new album from LSoD. Their first album didn’t particularly impress me; I didn’t necessarily dislike it but there wasn’t anything particularly striking about it. That being said, this new release turned out to be ten times better than I had expected.
I had a tough time choosing which track to post for a sampler, so I decided to just go with the opening title track.
Keep it metal
Demonoid - 14th Century Plague from Riders of the Apocalypse
This band was started after a few members of Therion decided they wanted an outlet for their desire to write heavier, more extreme metal.
Since recording this album Emperor Magus Calligula of Dark Funeral has become the new vocalist, and apparently there is a second album in the works.
For the next week Metal Sucks will be streaming the upcoming Keep of Kalessin album, Reptilian.
MS Vince, comparing the album to last year’s Kolossus says “Reptilian is a step up in every way: the songs are better, the arrangements and composition more intricate, the production crisper, the performance tighter.”
WOW, Kolossus was an incredible album. Needless to say, I’m anxious to give this a listen!
