The particular chords and major keys used in this track are incredible ; this has to be one of the best, most refreshing sounding songs I’ve heard in a while.

Metal Musicians Playing Folk Music #5
Seeing as I haven’t done a post for this series in a while, and Skyforger recently released a new album I figured I’d highlight the band while at the same time giving you another …Folk… installment.
The interesting thing about this particular instance of a metal band putting out a purely folk record is that it was supported by the Culture Capital Foundation of Latvia, the band’s home country.

Yes, another track from Arkona. It’s so hard to decide what tracks to post from them…their entire discography is perfect in my opinion. So, I decided to just go with the opening track from their new album this time. Enjoy!
By the way, the clean and heavy vocals are the same woman; she’s got incredible skill.
